Your data stays on your phone

GymDex is published by Jude Okun (“we”). This policy covers the GymDex iPhone app and this website. The short version: the app has no account, no analytics, no advertising and no server. We do not collect, see or sell any of your data.

What the app does with your information

Camera

When you press the shutter, the app captures a single frame and reads the machine’s instruction plate with on-device text recognition and image models. The photo is processed in memory on your iPhone. It is never saved to your photo library or storage, and never sent anywhere. The app only uses the camera after you grant permission, and you can revoke it at any time in Settings.

Training record

The machines you scan and the workouts, sets, routines and weights you log are stored in a file on your device. Sound and unit preferences are stored on your device too. None of it leaves your iPhone unless you choose to export a backup. A backup goes wherever you save it, such as Files or iCloud Drive, and is then covered by that service’s terms.

What we do not do

• No account, sign-in, email address or name is requested.
• No analytics, advertising or tracking SDKs are included, and we do not track you across apps or websites.
• No location, contacts, health data, photo library or microphone access.
• The app makes no network requests of its own.

Purchases

If you buy Full Access, Apple processes the payment. We never see your name, email or payment details. The app only asks Apple whether this Apple Account owns Full Access.

Crash reports

If you have turned on Share with App Developers in iOS Settings, Apple may send us anonymous crash and performance reports. We use them only to fix bugs. You can switch this off in Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements.

This website

If you join the waitlist, we store the email address you enter (and the gym name, if you give one) only to tell you when the app is available. We never share it. Ask us and we will delete it. The site is hosted on Vercel, which keeps standard server logs, such as IP addresses, for security and reliability. The site sets no advertising or tracking cookies.

Deleting your data

Deleting the app deletes everything it stored on your device. Backups you exported stay wherever you saved them until you delete them. We hold no copy, so there is nothing for us to delete on our side except a waitlist email, if you gave us one.

Children

GymDex is not directed at children under 13. The app collects no personal information from anyone, children included.
